The 9 areas of action of the Matera Association combine the specialties of our professionals and aim to build a more balanced society. Educating for healthy use of new technologies is our primary mission.

    • Children and Adolescents: Developing specific educational programs for schools and communities that teach children and adolescents about the importance of balanced technology use, online safety, digital literacy, and emotional skills to cope with digital pressures.
       

    • Adults: Offering workshops, seminars, consultations, and other educational resources, highlighting issues such as screen time management, online privacy, digital citizenship, and the development of critical thinking skills.

    • Healthcare Professionals: Training doctors, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to understand and address health issues related to excessive technology use, such as addiction to social media, online gaming, and other platforms, and their connections to sleep disorders, obesity, and other mental health problems in children, adolescents, and adults.
       

    • Consultation and Support: Providing consultation and medical and psychological care to excessive users and their family members. Offering counseling and therapy services for users and families, as well as guidance on improving and maintaining the physical health of children, adolescents, and adults.

    • Collaboration with Companies: Collaborating with companies to promote policies and work environments that encourage a healthy balance between work and digital life, as well as awareness programs on data security and responsible use of devices in the workplace.
       

    • Training and Corporate Intervention: Offering training and corporate intervention upon request.
       

    • National and International Collaboration: Collaborating with other national and international organizations, establishing partnerships with institutions that share similar goals, such as schools, higher education institutions, healthcare organizations, technology companies, and data protection agencies, to create a support and monitoring network.

    • Legal Advisory: Providing specialized legal consultancy on digital security issues, online privacy, and user rights, as well as helping victims of cybercrimes understand their rights and seek justice.
       

    • Digital Security Programs: Developing digital security programs that can be offered and shared according to needs.

  • Public Policy Support: Providing consultancy and research to government agencies in the creation of public policies that promote healthy technology use, regulate harmful practices, and encourage digital education initiatives in schools.

  • Professional Training Programs: Developing training programs for mental health professionals, educators, and lawyers who wish to specialize in issues related to responsible technology use and digital security.

    • Community Centers: Establishing or creating partnerships with community care centers, serving as support groups to provide guidance, support, and counseling to users and families seeking help to overcome excessive technology use.
       

    • Support Groups: Establishing groups for families and enthusiasts to connect with peers and colleagues, increasing the reach of actions among the general public.

  • Studies and Research: Conducting ongoing research on the impact of technology on physical and mental health, well-being, and human development, with a focus on providing practical, evidence-based insights.

  • Parent Education: Educating other parents through programs and workshops, creating resources and tools to manage children's screen time, sharing experiences in support groups, and participating in awareness campaigns.
